The guitar fretboard is - at least in terms of clarity - more complicated. This is mainly due to the intervals between the individual strings. They are irregular because of the anomaly between the second and third string (at standard tuning).
Each playing field on the fingerboard represents one semitone in terms of distance. While on the keyboard the high and low tones are distinguished by the dark keys, the guitar fingerboard does not distinguish these tones visually in any way.
